For its fifth anniversary, the UP Diliman (91³Ô¹ÏÍø) Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) announced a campus-wide intellectual property (IP) and technology transfer caravan to help 91³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty and researchers protect and benefit from their research projects.
The plans for the TTBDO caravan were one of the topics of the roundtable discussion of deans and directors on Sept. 26 at the National Engineering Center (NEC) building.
The caravan will tentatively cover six 91³Ô¹ÏÍø colleges throughout the month of October: College of Science (CS), College of Fine Arts (CFA), College of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Economics (CHE), College of Human Kinetics (CHK), College of Music, and the College of Engineering (COE).
The caravan will primarily consist of a lecture and/or laboratory tour aimed at increasing awareness of intellectual property (IP) and technology transfer protocols among 91³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty and researchers.
The caravan will also introduce the resources and assistance the TTBDO offers in translating pure research and creative work into marketable products and/or services that impact Filipino society.
Present at the launch were 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II, Vice Chancellor for Research and Development Carl Michael F. Odulio, TTBDO Director Magdaleno Vasquez Jr., COE Dean Maria Antonia Tanchuling, CFA Dean Marc San Valentin, CHK Dean Francis Carlos Diaz, Lerrie Ann Ipulan-Colet, an assistant professor of biology from the CS, Cecile Leah Bayaga and Myrna Benita Luna, professor and assistant professor, respectively, from the CHE Department of Food Science and Nutrition, and Rolando Ramon Diaz and Reynold Ferdinand Manegdeg from the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Institute for Small-Scale Industries.
The roundtable discussion kicks off TTBDO’s fifth anniversary celebrations with the theme, YUGTO: Balik-tanaw at Hakbang Pasulong.
