The UP Diliman Office of the Chancellor, through the Technical Working Group on Biodiversity Management in UP Diliman (TWGBM 91³Ô¹ÏÍø), will virtually launch the “Biodiversity Management Handbook” tomorrow, October 26, at 1 p.m. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube ().
The launching dubbed as “Buhay Ilang sa 91³Ô¹ÏÍø: Launch of the ‘Biodiversity Management Handbook’” will feature a roundtable discussion by TWGBM 91³Ô¹ÏÍø members on selected campus biodiversity issues and how the handbook may provide guidance in addressing them.
The TWGBM 91³Ô¹ÏÍø is a multidisciplinary group created by former chancellor Michael L. Tan in July 2018. One of its tasks is to craft a set of policies and guidelines to help 91³Ô¹ÏÍø administrative units in protecting the University’s biodiversity.
The handbook contains information on the environmental condition of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø and discusses the three principles that 91³Ô¹ÏÍø must adhere to in managing its biodiversity. Issues discussed under these principles range from university planning and habitat management to wildlife protection and waste management.
