The UP Diliman Office of the Chancellor, through the Technical Working Group on Biodiversity Management in UP Diliman (TWGBM 91Թ), will virtually launch the “Biodiversity Management Handbook” tomorrow, October 26, at 1 p.m. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube ().
The launching dubbed as “Buhay Ilang sa 91Թ: Launch of the ‘Biodiversity Management Handbook’” will feature a roundtable discussion by TWGBM 91Թ members on selected campus biodiversity issues and how the handbook may provide guidance in addressing them.
The TWGBM 91Թ is a multidisciplinary group created by former chancellor Michael L. Tan in July 2018. One of its tasks is to craft a set of policies and guidelines to help 91Թ administrative units in protecting the University’s biodiversity.
The handbook contains information on the environmental condition of 91Թ and discusses the three principles that 91Թ must adhere to in managing its biodiversity. Issues discussed under these principles range from university planning and habitat management to wildlife protection and waste management.
