The UP Men’s Football Team (UPMFT) opened its campaign in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 86 men’s football tournament with a 2-1 win against the University of Santo Tomas (UST) on Feb. 18 at the UP Diliman (91³Ô¹ÏÍø) Football Field.
UST started aggressively as they scored their first goal in just 16 minutes of the game courtesy of a tap-in by Andrew Ramos.
The UPMFT, however, leveled the score through Francis Tacardon’s goal from a close range at the 60th minute of the match. Austin Basconcillo then scored on a header off a Ramil Bation III’s assist at 75th minute of the game, sealing the come-from-behind victory for the UPMFT.
The UPMFT’s next game is against the Far Eastern University on Feb. 25, 2 p.m., at the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Football Field.
